When I sat down to watch Hallmark’s latest movies in their Countdown to Christmas this weekend, I didn’t expect to get both the best and the worst I’ve seen this year. Let’s start with the best.

Christmas in Vienna

Last Christmas, pre-Covid 19, my husband and I decided that for this year (2020) we would try to arrange a home exchange for Christmas in Italy. Then Covid hit and all dreams of travel were tabled. But maybe that was a good thing because I hadn’t seen Christmas in Vienna.

Now, guess where I want to do a Christmas home exchange? Yep. Vienna. Watch this movie. I guarantee it’ll make you want to spend your next Christmas there.

Once we can travel again, that is.

And if you actually do it let me know. Maybe we can meet up. Because I plan to be there.

A Timeless Christmas

I wanted to like this movie. I really did. I’m usually game for anything that takes place in a beautiful old mansion with gorgeous old-fashioned clothes. Unfortunately, those were not enough to save this movie. As far as Hallmark movies go, this one is merely average.

Watch the video review to hear all the details.

A Special Bonus

The thing that saved this movie for me was the lead actor, Ryan Paevey. He’s dreamy. If you agree, you’ll want to be sure to watch the last two minutes of the video for what I’m calling A Ryan Paevey Christmas. Sit back, pour yourself a glass of something yummy, and enjoy!
