I didn’t expect to enjoy either of these Hallmark movies as much as I did.
Never Kiss A Man In A Christmas Sweater
I mean…that title! Kinda dumb. Definitely long. (And yes, I know I’m totally the pot calling the kettle black. I was on a television series called “Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills” for crying out loud!) But, in spite of the title, this movie was unexpectedly charming and heartfelt. (I can’t say the same for my TV series.)
Christmas With the Darlings
Much as I love kids, I don’t always want them in my movies. They’re so often overdone with cuteness or sass. “Sass” being just a nice word for rude and disrespectful behavior. And as for overdone cuteness, a perfect example is the Snuggle Fabric Softener bear. I always hated him.
So, I don’t want overly cute kids saturating my Christmas movie. And Christmas With the Darlings had three kids, so I was skeptical.
I needn’t have worried. The three actors playing the kids were fabulous. No over acting. No forced cuteness. Which allowed me to put my reservations aside and fully embrace this family-friendly Christmas romance.
REMEMBER: You can download your own Hallmark Christmas Movie Checklist to compare notes with me. I’ll be reviewing all of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movies this year.
